Congratulations to all students who participated in the recent UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge. An impressive 29 students were awarded medals: 8 Gold, 13 Silver and 8 Bronze, an outstanding achievement for NLGS.

A special mention goes out to Mustafa Year 10 who previously earned a Gold medal in the Senior UKMT Challenge and has now achieved 113 points in the Intermediate Challenge, nearly double the Gold medal threshold of 61. As a result, he has been invited to the Hamilton Maths Olympiad, open to the highest-performing Year 10 students across England, Wales and overseas. This places him among the Top 500 students internationally and marks the strongest result we have ever achieved at NLGS.

Another remarkable achievement comes from Maryam Year 8, who also secured a Gold medal. Competing at this level at such a young age is truly inspiring, and her performance stands out even among our Gold medallists.

These accomplishments highlight the tremendous potential of our students, with Year 10 and 11 students performing at A-Level standard, and Year 8 students successfully competing against their KS4 peers.

We are incredibly proud of their dedication and hard work.
