North London Grammar School has been recognised as the Winner of the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Award 2025 for International Provision voted for by a panel of expert judges, including school leaders and education experts, who look for standout stories of ambition, success, and achievement. The award celebrates the school’s flagship global initiative, the International Greenwich Olympiad (IGO).

In its fourth year, IGO has become a vibrant international platform, uniting over 500 students from 53 countries in project-based scientific and creative challenges. From the moment students raise their national flags together at the Opening Ceremony in Oxford to the sharing of traditional performances during Culture Night, the Olympiad celebrates diversity, intercultural understanding, and global collaboration. The event features an exhibition of scientific and non-scientific innovative projects, showcasing the creativity and talent of young people from around the world, followed by a celebratory Award Ceremony recognising their outstanding achievements.

The International Greenwich Olympiad collaborates with a wide range of global partners, including scientific networks, ministries of education, and affiliated organisations, highlighting its international reach and commitment to fostering innovation, intercultural exchange, and sustainability in education. Beyond competition, IGO serves as a transformative platform for intercultural networking, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and global collaboration, and inspiring young people worldwide to become creative, curious, and socially responsible changemakers.

“At North London Grammar School, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. The International Greenwich Olympiad reflects our commitment to nurturing curiosity, intercultural understanding, and leadership in our students. Receiving the ISA Award for International Provision is a proud moment for our entire school community, and we are deeply grateful to the team, students and partners who make this global initiative possible.”
– Mr. Fatih Adak, Headteacher.
