About the Role

We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring colleague to join our English department. We seek the very best teachers who can consistently teach good or outstanding lessons. You will be able to engage and motivate our students with your passion for English and creative teaching, presence and personality.

English is a high achieving and dynamic department. Results in KS3 are outstanding and students make excellent progress. Members of the team are totally committed to ensuring successful outcomes for our students. At GCSE, we currently offer AQA English, English Literature, Media and IGCSE English for our International cohort. We also teach Drama in KS3.

Candidates who have experience in planning, delivering and assessing up to the GCSE level will be preferable. The ability to teach to A-level is helpful, but not a pre-requisite for the post. The person appointed will be given full support in their career development as we believe that development of staff is a key aspect of raising standards for our students. Suitable candidates may be offered a leadership responsibility with a TLR. NLGS is an Equal Opportunities Employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

North London Grammar School is a friendly, dynamic and innovative school near Hendon in Barnet. Parents judged us to be outstanding for safeguarding, behaviour, well-being, teaching quality, facilities and leadership/management.
